Graduate Handbook and Forms

Graduate Handbook

The English department graduate Handbook contains not only guidelines and requirements, but information about the Fargo-Moorhead area, former graduates, and career options post MA. Download the handbook.

Graduate School Forms

The NDSU Graduate School has its own set of guidelines and forms, maintained on their website. Find and download the Graduate College Student Forms (Plan for Study, Graduation, etc.).

Field Experience

Graduate students in English can take 3 credits of Field Experience. These credits are often earned when students have the opportunity to do some professional or community writing, or when they wish to shadow a faculty member teaching literature, creative writing, or an upper division writing course. Download the Guide to Field Experience Courses (795)

Independent Study

An independent study is different than field experience; an independent study is an academic course designed by a student to fill a relevant gap in his or her plan of study. Download the Independent Study Guidelines and Forms
