Howdy! I completed my MA in English with a concentration in
literature from NDSU during the summer of 2008. In addition to
studying at NDSU, I earned my BA in English with a
concentration in writing from Minnesota State University
Moorhead in 2004.
My scholarly interests range deep and wide, but in particular
my Master's work focused on contemporary Native American
literature, specifically the novels of Thomas King and the
theories of Gerald Vizenor. I am also interested in early
American literature and the ways it shaped America's historical
and contemporary cultural landscape. Other notable interests
include writing studies, the essays of Mark Twain, war poetry,
and stand-up comedy.
As an instructor, I teach both writing and literature courses.
I am currently teaching one section of American Literature I
(English 261). I have taught multiple sections of both English
110 and 120 at NDSU throughout the past four years. Sample
syllabi are available upon request.
