I have benn teaching English to non-native speakers at NDSU for several
years -- both for the Intensive English Language Program and the English
department. I have found this niche to be an interesting jolt and
challenge from my previous years of teaching traditional first year
composition. I teach students from nearly every continent (still waiting
for Antarctica) each semester. I enjoy the perspective that they have
given to me regarding their cultures as well as the study and
idiosyncrasies of the English language. They have my support and
sympathy.

For 2008 - 09, I will be teaching English 112 and 122.

I have BA degrees in English and psychology, an MS degree in education,
and an MA in English.

For my own reading and study, I am often drawn to the writings of C.S.
Lewis. My Lewis library includes works form this author's many genres:
fiction, literary criticism, Christian apologetics, essays, and poems. In
addition, I enjoy reading creative non-fiction and the wide choices of my
monthly reading group.
