I began teaching at NDSU in the fall of 1974, and am currently
an Associate Professor. Both my master's and doctorate degrees are
from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where I specialized in
Medieval Literature, focusing especially on Chaucer.
In the fall semester 2008, I am teaching English 121, Honors
College Composition II, English 222, Introduction to Poetry, and
English 240, World Literature Masterpieces. During the spring
semester, I am scheduled to teach English 251 as well as World
Literature.
My research includes work on Chaucer, especially The Canterbury
Tales, as well as other medieval works. In addition, through my
teaching, I have developed a special interest in women writers, a
specialty that wasn't available at the time I did my graduate work.
In fact, it has been fascinating to watch the number of courses
devoted to women writers increase and to watch courses change as
women writers are added to syllabi here at NDSU.
