Dr. Andrew Mara

In Fall 08 Dr. Mara will teach Introduction to Writing Studies and Nineteenth Century American Fiction.

In Spring 09 Dr. Mara will offer Introduction to Writing Studies, and Business and Professional Writing.

Andrew Mara began teaching and researching at NDSU in 2006. Dr. Mara earned an M.A. in Literature from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996 and a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Writing with emphases on Professional and Technical Writing in 2003. He combined this academic experience with on-the-job expertise as a professional communicator at Sandia National Laboratories.

Research interests include posthumanism, rhetoric of technology and scientific progress, university innovation, and corporate and organizational use of new media.

Dr. Mara regularly teaches the Introduction to Writing Studies and Business Writing classes. In addition he also teaches courses in Invention and Innovation, Rhetorics and Poetics of New Media, and Electronic Communication.
